vegas baby...

wppi...wow, where to start. vegas was just what i thought it would be like. never-ending days and nights, bright flashing lights, the distant sound of slot machines, all 24-7...plus alot more. tippy and i got to experience a whole world of pure excitement, adrenaline, and jaw-dropping photography. there were 11,000 photographers, over 300 vendors, and over 100 instructors. the men and women we look up to as the best of the best...yervant, mike colon, jerry ghionis, bambi cantrell, joe buissink, marcus bell, the list just goes on and on...were all in one town at one time...and we talked to all of them. it was, for a first timer, really awe-inspiring.

that's just part of the wonder of wppi...the first two days, i got the priviledge of studying hands on with bambi cantrell. we had a class of 20 photogs from all over the world in one room, shooting 5 different models in different lighting scenarios. some of them had wild body paint, other's extreme make-up, but all were talented and became our friends by the end of the class. it was really hard to say goodbye to them to be honest...so sweet. then came the intensive early morning to late night classes. we experienced the intelligent and market-savvy speakers in the business institute. they taught us the world of marketing in the ever-evolving world of photography. many great ideas that we can't wait to put into effect. next was a huge trade show where 100's and 100's of vendors set up to show us the newest and latest in the photog. industry. we could have spent 1000's there to say the least. last but not least wonderful master classes with kevin kubota, and andrew & rachel nieson of lacour. a plethora of information from these two classes.

and i think one of the very best things about wppi is the community and camaraderie between fellow photographers. we met some of the most awesome people and have hopefully formed lasting relationships. we can't wait to wppi 2009 to re-unite our little family. until then my friends, don't be shy, email, visit, and keep in touch, we love you all!!!
